“After a fateful cruise down in Albany 2020, I fell in love with sailing and joined the next RPYC Crew and Helm course. Since then I’ve gone through the S80 and Racing Skills programs, and sailed in various fleets including S80s, sports boats and Tasars. I’m looking forward to the local and international sailing opportunities that will develop from RPYC Women’s Squad, and the joy of sailing with a like-minded team. See you out on the water!”
I learned to sail when I was about 14 years old, and soon joined the German Segelclub Schwielochsee. This is where I first experienced Dinghy Sailing. During my studies I moved around quite a bit however got back into sailing after getting settled in Hamburg and joined the local Hamburger Segelclub. At this stage, I jumped on any boat that was available: 470s, 505s, keelboats, and traditional sailing boats, as each and everyone of them offered is its own charms. Now, I aim to support all women to make the most of the sailing opportunities at RPYC!
