This talk will cover Marine Rescue WA’s role in the broader search and rescue framework, the Marine Rescue Communications Support Group, the VHF marine radio network, RoIP technology, Log On/Log Off and future statewide support arrangements.
It will also include a practical example from the Fremantle to Albany Offshore Yacht Race, where Marine Rescue Mandurah and MRCS provided communications support across the event.
This session will give members a behind-the-scenes look at how Marine Rescue WA supports boaters before, during and after an incident — and how experienced sailors, skippers and crew can help strengthen the safety network that supports WA’s boating community.
